Posing Tips Part 5: Expression

If you’ve been following along in this posing series, you’ve heard me say that I try to create as much variety as possible from each pose! A lot of that comes from hand, fingers and weight shifting but now we’re going to talk about expression.

There are many different ways to help coach your clients through their expressions. Here are my favorite prompts:

Laugh at your horse’s nose

Look off-camera and laugh

Look at the camera with a serious face

Through it all, I’m helping the client by coaching them through all their expressions.

Watch Part 5 of the posing series to see how I get variety on each pose!

If you are interested in learning more about how I pose, I offer a Posing Course that thoroughly breaks down the foundation of how I pose a horse, how I pose a human, and how I direct the two together!

Be sure to sign up for the Newsletter if you want to see more from this series in the future!
