End of 2020 Plans

As 2020 comes to an end (PRAISE JESUS) I wanted to share a few things I am doing to wrap up the end of the year:

GOAL ASSESSMENT

One year ago, I wrote out my goals for 2020. This is my time to go through and see which ones I met and which ones I missed. I assess how/why I achieved the goals that I met and give myself a big pat on the back. I also take a close look at how/why I missed the mark on some of my goals. I don’t consider missed goals a failure and I don’t punish myself, but I try to see them as an opportunity to learn. I question whether that was a good goal to make, if I still prioritize that item, and how I’ll change my behavior going forward.

After a healthy analysis of 2020 goals, it is time to pray and pray hard. I will write a list of “what I’m thankful for” in 2020. Led by the Spirit, I will write out my 2021 goals and see where He is leading my heart.

CREATING

I am a big advocate of self-care. If I am burnt out, I set the camera down and rest. I like to do yoga, ride horses, take my dog on walks, take long (very hot) baths, read, etc. Thankfully, I didn’t push myself too hard in 2020 and I am in a great place mentally. The next 3 months are slow for me so I’ll take time to create work that inspires me. I’ve been keeping a list of models and ideas and now is the time to execute!

BACKEND BUSINESS

With more down time, I make updates to my websites (a few tips here), make any pricing or contract changes I need to, work with my CPA to make assessments on my finances for tax purposes, map out future content, and more! My personality type (strength is “achiever”) needs to-do lists, so I set long ones to tackle in the off-season!

I want to stay consistent in my marketing plans so if I don’t have fresh work to share on social media, I might dig through archives and post some favorites!

REST

I’m really, really bad at this one. But I’m trying to be better. I’m trying to give myself rest, days off, grace, and time to enjoy a slow season.

EDUCATION

I just purchased 2 courses and joined a mastermind (might even join a second!) so it is time to hit the books and keep learning!
